The Plan of Salvation is God’s plan to bring back His creation/mankind into a healthy and proper relationship with Him. One version of this plan is found in the Holy Bible, in the Book of Romans 10:9-17. There are seven steps to this plan. I pray that you have already taken them, however, if you have not, why not today? God is ready to save you right now. Regardless of your sins, your past and your present habits. He desires to save you now. Below is a suggestion how this can take place:
1. The Gospel, which Explains God’s Love must be Communicated. The communicator does not have to be a minister. God simply desires to have a willing person who will take an active stand in their belief as a Christian. The communication can be done via a sermon, Bible study, tele-evangelism, radio, E-Mail/Internet, Braille, etc.
2. A Conscious Decision to Repent and to Ask Jesus to Personally Become Lord of One’s Life. Upon the Gospel being communicated to the hearer, at some point in the hearer (sometimes immediately/sometimes after repeated communication opportunities (over a duration of time)) is compelled by the truth of the Gospel and submits their life to Christ and repents from living a life of sin. At this point, the hearer immediately becomes a Believer/is Saved/is Born Again/Becomes a member of the Family of God. Contrary to some opinions, there is no requirement by God for an emotional response to make this experience seem more real. Salvation is based on believe and God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8).
3. Baptism and Church Fellowship. Upon accepting Christ as your personal Savior, the Bible strongly encourages you to seek to get baptized (Acts 2:38) and to join a quality Bible Believing, Bible Teaching Church of your preference (the closer to your home the better-if possible) (Hebrews 10:25).
4. A Relationship is a Must. Many times, people complete parts “1” through “3” of this Plan, but they may never get to the point where they actually experience having a relationship with Jesus for themselves. We establish a working relationship with Jesus through talking with Him in prayer. “Daily (as often as possible) sincere prayer” is essential to creating and maintaining a healthy relationship with the Lord.
5. Application of God’s Word. Simultaneously, through your implementation of this Plan, you should seek to apply God’s Word in your life by genuinely making strides to execute what is read in God’s Word, His Holy Bible. Regularly attending Church, showing God’s love to family, friends and associates is a part of God’s great Plan.
6. Seek Additional Tutelage Concerning God’s Word. Many times for new Believers, it is difficult to understand everything that is heard at Church and/or when conversing with other Believers. This is especially true if the Church/Believers are not sensitive to what it means to be a “new Believer.” It will be tremendously helpful to you to find someone either at Church (or request Church to assign someone to you), home or an associate who is a Believer that can help you to interpret the Bible and traditional Christian beliefs. Attending Sunday School and Bible Study classes is paramount and can help to alleviate unwanted frustrations.
7. Share the Gospel. Upon having a “basic” understanding (that is all it takes-not tenure/not memorizing several verses of scripture) of this Plan it is very important to begin sharing the joy of being Saved with others. Nothing is worth having if you cannot give it away. Witnessing to others aids tremendously towards building up your faith. Regularly sharing your faith equates to experiencing the fullness of what it is and means to be a Believer and a Child of God (Philemon 6).
